Domestic Market

Sugar prices remained stable, demand lower

For the third session in a row, major markets were reported to have stable domestic sugar prices. On account of the significant rainfall activity, demand is reportedly low. Trading activity has been somewhat impacted by the heavy rains that have been occurring over Maharashtra. In Kolhapur, S grades ranged from Rs 3,480 to Rs 3,520, while M grades in Muzaffarnagar cost between Rs 3,630 and Rs 3,670.

According to AgriMandi.live, the price of S grade in the Kolhapur markets will be between Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,550 per quintal.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $689.60 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 24.56 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 81.953 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 4.7915, Crude futures traded at ₹6214, Crude WTI traded at $75.63 barrel. Sensex closed 474.46 points higher at 67571.90 whereas Nifty ended 146.00 points higher at 19979.15
