ChiniMandi, Mumbai: 25th April 2025
Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices remained stable.
Sluggish demand continues to weigh on domestic sugar prices in the major spot markets. Prices are trading at a two-month low due to weak demand. Demand is said to be weak, particularly among bulk buyers, which is weighing on prices. Despite lower production and monthly quotas, subdued demand has kept prices in the lower two-month range.
On export front, parity is turned to negative with the recent fall in global prices coupled with stronger INR. However, as most of the quantity are contracted above $520 per MT, most of the sugar is likely to ship by mid June i.e., before the onset of monsoon over Maharashtra.
S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,740 and Rs 3,800 per quintal in Kolhapur and M-grade sugar ranges between Rs 3,990 and Rs 4,080 in Muzaffarnagar.
