The Jawaharpur unit of Dalmia group kickstarted its sugarcane crushing season on Wednesday. Sugar mill is known for its crushing capacity in the district.
Recently, the unit has expanded its crushing capacity to 10,000 Tonnes per day. In the previous season, mill operated with a capacity of 7,000 tonnes per day. With the increase in crushing capacity of sugar mill, the daily crushing of cane will increase.
In season 2021-22, mill produced 9.18 lakh quintal of sugar by crushing 13.21 lakh tonnes of sugarcane.
