Delay in sugarcane payments may lead to reduction of mill’s purchase centres next crushing season

Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: Farmers allege that despite departmental orders, the Wave sugar mill in Mandi Dhanaura has been negligent in paying farmers their overdue cane payments. Even after warnings, the mill has failed to make the payments, reported Amar Ujala.

On Tuesday, the District Cane Officer (DCO) held another meeting with the mill management, issuing a stern warning to expedite the payments.

The DCO stated that if payments are not made on time, the purchase centres of the mill will be reduced in the upcoming crushing season. On June 5, DCO Manoj Kumar had a meeting with the mill management and ordered them to clear the dues within fifteen days. However, it has not been cleared yet.

The DCO reiterated his warning that if payments were not made on time, the mill’s purchase centres would be reduced.
