Mangaluru, Karntaka: Former Urban Development Minister and Congress leader Vinay Kumar Sorake has leveled accusations of irregularities in the sale of scrap items at the Brahmavar Cooperative Sugar Factory, reported The Hindu.
Sorake announced on Monday that a delegation of Congress leaders hailing from the Udupi district will meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the upcoming week. They will urge him to safeguard the interest of the factory and farmers.
Speaking at a protest organized by the Congress in Brahmavar, Sorake alleged that the management of the factory has taken some decisions against the laid out rules.
Addressing the protesters, Congress leader Sudhir Kumar Maroli alleged that some of the costliest metals, materials were sold in the guise of selling the scrap items from the factory premises He pointed out the e-way bills, way-bridge receipts, and gate passes are not maintained.
It is worth noting that the factory had previously refuted the allegations made by Congress leaders, asserting that no irregularities had occurred in the sale of scrap items.
