Farmers associated with Bhartiya Kisan Union (Annadata) staged a protest on Saturday afternoon demanding cane price payment. They also submitted the memorandum to the Deputy Collector.
Addressing the farmers, the Yuva state president, Usman Ali Pasha, said that the new crushing season is all set to begin but farmers have not been paid for the previous season. Many festivals are around the corner but farmers don’t have money to celebrate the same. Sugar mills should clear the dues before Diwali.
