Bijnor: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Azad Kisan Union have demanded the government to increase the sugarcane purchase price to Rs 450 per quintal.
The demand was made in a monthly meeting organised by the Union at Bijnor.
Virendra Singh, vice president of the organisation said, “Government should consider the farmers’ demand keeping in view the increase in the input cost for sugarcane cultivation and hike the cane purchase price.”
