Balangir, Odisha: The BJP under the leadership of Anant Das launched a silent protest before the district collectorate demanding the starting of the sugar mill that has stopped operating.
According to the Daily Pioneer, Das said, “Earlier, it was providing employment to 800 youths and 15,000 farmers were benefited both directly and indirectly. As the industry has stopped functioning, people are migrating to other places for jobs. Therefore we stage silent demonstration before the collectorate demanding reopening of the sugar mill.”
The agitators submitted a memorandum of their demands to the Balangir Sub Collector Sanjay Mishra in this regard. Mishra stated that he will pass on information to the government in this matter.
