Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: According to the media report, DM Jasjit Kaur expressed displeasure with the officers of the sugar mills after she found sugarcane payment status unsatisfactory. On Thursday, DM reviewed crushing season 2019-20 sugar mill wise payment given to cane growers.
As per news report published in Amarujala.com, District Sugarcane officer Vijay Bahadur Singh said, Shamali sugar mill has cleared Rs 304.93 crore out of Rs 388.54 crore. Unn sugar mill has cleared Rs 272.74 crore out of Rs 337.22 crore and Thanabhavan sugar mill cleared Rs 394.54 crore out of Rs 490.93 crore. Sugar mills from the district owe Rs 237 crore to the cane farmers.
The mills have been asked to clear the pending can dues within a deadline given by the department.
