Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh: DM Selva Kumari has asked the sugar mills from the district to clear the pending cane arrears on a priority basis. The officer conducted a virtual meeting of the representatives of the sugar mills and discussed several issues related to the sugarcane sector.
According to the media report, DM has given a deadline of August 31 to the sugar mills to clear all the pending cane arrears. The DM has warned the millers to face action if they fail to clear cane arrears on time.
During the meeting, the DM also took a review of the preparation done by the sugar mills ahead of the next crushing season. The representatives of the sugar mills have stated that they have completed around 30 per cent of the work related to repair and maintenance in the sugar mills and will be soon ready for the next crushing season.
