Padrauna, Uttar Pradesh: DM from the district warned sugar mills to face action if they fail to clear the cane dues. He directed mills to pay the entire sugarcane dues by the end of September.
The DM held a review meeting on Tuesday with the sugar mills official and DCO.
Cane growers claim they are in financial crisis and are unable to meet their daily needs. Sugar mills also say that due to low sugar sales they too are facing financial shortage and therefore failed to clear the dues.
