Lucknow: Bharaich district magistrate (DM) Dr. Dinesh Chandra has set a new trend of welcoming guests with sugarcane juice during the Holi celebration, reports Hindustan Times.
According to the media report, step has been taken to promote cane cultivation in the Terai region. It would help to boost the sugarcane production in the region where cane is the major crop.
The guests were surprised on Monday when the DM welcomed them with sugarcane juice. The video of the DM preparing cane juice went viral on social media.
DM said, “The step has been taken to spread awareness among consumers to prefer cane juice that would increase the income of farmers,” said DM.
“Sugarcane juice with lemon, ginger, and mint provides instant energy and is better than any other soft drink,” he further added.
