Doghat, Uttar Pradesh: In a farmers meeting held in Doghat, they have demanded the government to clear the pending cane dues at the earliest, reports Amar Ujala.
Farmers had convened a meeting to discuss the issue of pending cane dues. They stated that the cane growers from the Chaugama region send their crop to Khatauli, Daurala, Mansurpur, Bhaisana, Kinauni and Malakpur sugar mills. Khatauli, Mansurpur and Daurala sugar mills have made cane payment to farmers however Bhaisana, Kinauni and Malakpur sugar mills yet to pay the cane bills of the previous season.
Farmers claim that they are facing a financial crisis and are unable to meet their daily needs. They have urged the government to ensure that the sugar mills clear their pending cane dues as soon as possible.
