Pune: 66th Annual Convention & Sugar Expo 2021 of Deccan Sugar Technologist’s Association (DSTA), established in 1936 by Shri Lalchand Hirachand who in 1932 himself was pioneer in setting up integrated Sugar Complexes in India, will be held in Pune on October 30, 2021.
DSTA is amongst oldest Premiere Industry Association in India and solely dedicated to continual improvement in efficiency and productivity encompassing all the facets of Sugar & Allied Industry.
The chief guest for the event will be Union Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari. The convention is expected to be attended by a wide spectrum of participants comprising sugar mill owners, key policy & decision makers, agriculture experts, progressive sugarcane farmers, Sr. executives, and technocrats of various segments of Sugar and Allied Industry.
Due to the threat of Covid-19, it will be a limited capacity event, whereas others can participate in the convention through online modes. It is organized virtually concurrently with the convention and will be participated by various leading organisations showcasing their latest machinery, equipments, products and services to a large number of delegates (virtually).
The conference will also feature research papers related to Sugar and Allied Industry. The research papers covering recent trends in all the segments of the Sugar and Allied Industry will be presented by experts and deliberated upon by the delegated virtually.
According to the association committee, research papers are invited from members of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka on production, agriculture, engineering, technology and management from sugar production and allied organizations. It is then scrutinized by the expert committee of the association. A booklet with a compilation of the best research papers will be unveiled.
The booklet is designed to benefit all members with innovative and successful concepts. This year’s booklet will include a total of 42 research papers, the committee said.
At the convention, the Lifetime Achievement Award will be conferred to the members of the association who have made remarkable achievements in the field of sugar production. Also, they will be honoured with the Industrial Excellence Award in recognition of the contribution of individuals and organizations working in the sugar industry. The awards will be presented by Mr. Gadkari. Apart from this, cash prizes will be given to the top 10 research papers included in the research paper of the last annual convention.
