On Friday, Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, expressed his assurance in the establishment of special fuel stations retailing E20 petrol, stating that the entire nation would soon be equipped with these stations.
He was speaking at the AGM of Indian Merchants Chambers.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “The first E20 outlet was opened in February this year and now there are more than 600 outlets in the country. By 2025 such stations will be available across the country.”
The government aims to achieve a 20 per cent ethanol blending target by 2025, which has already crossed 11 per cent ahead of schedule. Recently, government had advanced the 20 per cent blending target by five years to 2025 from 2030.
