Cairo: A court in Egypt has awarded five years jail term to sugar factory owner for mixing salt with sugar, reports Gulf News.
The court also slapped a fine of 30,000 Egyptian pounds (Dh6,028) stating it was the “strangest case of commercial fraud”.
A case was registered against the owner after several traders and people complained to the police after they discovered salt mixed with sugar in packets manufactured by a factory in the same district.
As per media report, police investigated the case and verified the reports and later seized bags of sugar mixed with salt.
