Cairo: Egypt’s state procurement agency, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), extended the deadline for companies to submit offers in its tender for 50,000 tonnes of raw cane sugar, reported Reuters.
The new deadline is March 30, up from the previously announced March 23.
GASC issued the tender on March 17 on behalf of the Egyptian Sugar & Integrated Industries Company, seeking offers for raw cane sugar of any origin. The agency said it is now looking for offers that will be valid until April 1.
While the payment terms remain unchanged – at sight in either Egyptian pounds or US dollars on a CIF (cost, insurance, and freight) basis – GASC has added new options for shipment periods. Companies can now propose deliveries in June, July, or August, or any combination of these three months.
