Chennai: The first quarter results of EID Parry (India) Ltd. shows that the company has earned a standalone net profit of Rs 13 crore as against a loss of Rs 33 crore during the same period last year on better volumes and realisation in sugar, power and distillery, reports The Hindu.
In a regulatory filing, the company said that the total expenses increased from Rs 506 crore to Rs 766 crore and the revenue from operations rose to Rs 722 crore, an increase of 60 per cent.
The higher power tariff helped the company earn better profit in the power segment. The sugarcane crushing of the company increased from 1.46 lakh tonnes to 2.69 lakh tonnes.
