Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh: The government has again postponed the elections for sugar mills and sugarcane committees for the third time, reports Live Hindustan.
The decision has been taken by the state government as the administration is busy tackling the flood situation in the state. New dates will be announced by the government after the situation is brought under control.
According to the district cooperative department, the administration is busy tackling the floods in the state as well as the preparations for the yatras in the state will need the attention of the administration. Hence the scheduled elections for the sugar mills and sugarcane committees have been postponed. The voting was scheduled on August 9 and the new dates will be announced by the government after the situation returns to normalcy.
Surya Narayan Mishra, ARO, Cooperative said, “The government has postponed the elections and has not yet announced the new dates for conducting elections.”
