Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty opened on a flat note on Friday. At 10:04 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading 88.93 points lower at 44,170.81. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty slipped 15.45 points to 12,971.55.
NTPC was the top gainer in the Sensex pack followed by Bajaj Auto, Maruti, Tech Mahindra, L&T, Asian Paints and Bajaj Finance. On the other hand, PowerGrid, Reliance Industries and TCS were among the laggards.
