Ethanol production in Bihar will increase farmers income: Nitin Gadkari

Once the ethanol manufacturing units start ethanol production from husks of rice, maize, and sugarcane, the ethanol-based vehicles would start plying in Bihar, said Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari.

He was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the Eastern lane of Mahatma Gandhi Setu in Hajipur of Vaishali.

Addressing the gathering, he said, that ethanol manufacturing would increase the income of farmers as well as open new job opportunities for the youth from Bihar.

Gadkari on Tuesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 15 National Highway projects in Patna and Hajipur in Bihar with a total cost of Rs 13,585 crore.

Speaking on the occasion Gadkari said, “Mahatma Gandhi Setu is the lifeline of Bihar, which connects North Bihar with South Bihar. With this super structure replacement project, the time taken to cross Mahatma Gandhi Setu has been reduced from 2 to 3 hours to 5 to 10 minutes.” He said the Chhapra-Gopalganj section being two-lane with four bypasses will allow the traffic of the highway to pass through the bypass and the city will get rid of traffic jams.
