Rohtak: Ethanol production will help sugar mills to lower their losses, said Minister for Cooperation and Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Dr Banwari Lal, reports The Tribune.
He was speaking while inaugurating the 2022-23 crushing season at the cooperative sugar mill at Bhali Anandpur village in Rohtak district.
“Ethanol plants are being set up and electricity is being generated at sugar mills. Shahabad sugar mill has set up an ethanol plant and Panipat and Karnal sugar mills will follow soon,” he said.
“Ethanol plants will be established at all sugar mills in the state. One ethanol plant would be set up for two small mills,” said the minister.
Jagdeep Singh, Divisional Commissioner, Rohtak urged the farmers and workers to cooperate with the mill management to make it profit-making mill.
