Panaji: The proposed Rs 80 crore integrated sugar mill and ethanol distillery at the Sanjivani Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd (SSSKL) is expected to generate employment for 235 persons, reports The Times of India. The proposed project also includes setting up of a Seed Development and Farmers Training Centre.
A senior official of the sugar mill said, “The total direct manpower required for the integrated project has been estimated at 235. The sugar mill has a manpower of 183 and additional manpower will be required for the distillery.”
A 45-kilo litre per day (KLPD) plant will be set up at the mill premises.
As per the project report, the project will utilize the cane crop the most efficiently.
