JSW MG Motor India has announced that its popular SUV, the Hector, is now certified to run on E20 fuel, a blend of petrol with 20% ethanol. This move brings the vehicle in line with upcoming government regulations that require all petrol-powered cars sold after April 1, 2025, to be E20-compatible. The updated Hector, available in 1.5-liter Petrol MT and CVT versions, starts at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and offers buyers a more eco-friendly option without compromising performance, reports Free Press Journal.
All petrol variants of the Hector produced after March 31, 2025, will meet the new ethanol fuel standards, reinforcing MG Motor’s focus on sustainability.
First launched in 2019, the MG Hector continues to be a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment, known for its premium features such as a large dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 14-inch HD infotainment touchscreen, and more than 70 connected car features. The SUV also places a strong emphasis on safety, offering advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for a smarter and safer drive.
Rakesh Sen, Head of Sales at JSW MG Motor India, said, “The Hector remains a favorite among customers because of its top-notch quality and the way it meets their expectations. Making it E20-compatible shows how serious we are about being environmentally responsible and continuing to innovate. Our goal is to deliver cars that our customers love while also contributing to a cleaner future.”
In an effort to make car shopping more convenient and exciting, JSW MG Motor India has launched a special “Midnight Carnival” for the Hector. As part of this limited-time campaign, MG showrooms will stay open until midnight every weekend. During this period, 20 lucky customers will win a trip to London, and others can take advantage of special benefits worth up to Rs 4 lakh.
