Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: The sugar production in Ethiopia has increased after the reforms initiated by the government in the sugar sector, informed Ethiopian Sugar Corporation.
Gashaw Aycheluhem, Public Relation Head, Ethiopian Sugar Corporation said, “The government has given priority for the reforms in the sugar sector and it yielded good results. we have produced over 3 million quintals of sugar during the concluded Ethiopian budget year. The production is the highest in the last two years. We have also witnessed a hike in ethanol production this year.”
“The government is also considering privatizing the sugar industry and the steps are being taken in this direction”, he further added.
