Deoria: Farmers in Deoria district continued their protest on Monday for the 116th day demanding the revival of the Baitalpur sugar mill. The farmers staged a protest and raised slogans in support of the mill’s reopening, reported Live Hindustan.
They alleged that despite the Chief Minister’s announcement to revive the mill, no concrete steps have been taken yet. They accused the government, administration, and local representatives of ignoring their demands and the ongoing protest.
The protesters, including Sanjeev Shukla, Krishna Mohan Mishra, Manju Chauhan, Shivaji Rai, Akhlak Ahmed, Ashok Kumar, Ayodhya Yadav, Collector Sharma, Brijendra Rai, Vijay Kumar Singh, Rakesh Chaurasia, Ashok Malviya, and Kanhaiya Mani, said that the government’s inaction shows that they are not concerned about the welfare of the farmers.
