Saharanpur: Farmers demand an early start of Nanauta sugar mill’s crushing season

Saharanpur: The management of the Nanauta sugar mill received a formal request from a Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan regarding various demands, as Saturday marked the commencement of the sugarcane season, reported Live Hindustan.

Gulshan Kumar, the mill’s General Manager, informed that the mill’s upgrade work is nearing completion, and the start of the mill’s operations is scheduled for November 10.

Under the leadership of Thakur Ajab Singh, the district president of Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan, farmers in the region presented a three-point demand letter to the mill’s General Manager on Saturday. The demand highlighted that most of the district’s sugar mills have already begun operations, except for the Nanauta sugar mill. They urged for the swift commencement of the mill’s operations so that farmers could sow their wheat crops on time.

Gulshan Kumar, while assuring the farmers, explained that the mill’s capacity enhancement work, including the installation of a weight scrubber for preventing spills, is currently in its final stages. This work is set to conclude shortly, and the official inauguration of the mill’s operations will take place on November 10.
