Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of RLD student wing have demanded the clearing of pending cane arrears from the sugar mills in the district. The delegation of farmers met district collector and handed him the memorandum of their demands.
They under the leadership of Rajan Jawala, secretary of the RLD youth wing, met district cane officer Vijay Bahadur Singh and submitted the memorandum to him in the name of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Farmers said that they are reeling under the financial burden and are unable to meet their daily needs. The farmers do not have funds to purchase essential things required for the next season and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the mills clear cane dues.
