Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union demanded a hike in the sugarcane purchase price to Rs 400 per quintal.
The demand was raised in the monthly meeting of the BKU at Nahtaur.
The farmers stated that the government should consider the increase in the input cost of the sugarcane cultivation and based on it should hike the cane price. Farmers also claimed that we have also received the cane dues of the previous season.
