Chandpur, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of BKU Lokshakti have demanded that the government should fix cane purchase price at Rs 500 per quintal.
According to the news report published in Amarujala.com, the farmers and the activists of the BKU Lokshakti visited the Tehsil office on Thursday and submitted the memorandum of their demands to the Tehsildar. They also threatened to launch an agitation if their demands are not accepted by the government.
During the meeting, the farmers made several demands including the complete loan waiver, pension to the farmers aged above 60 years and withdrawal of the recent agri laws.
