Amroha: Sugarcane farmers have demanded the transfer of more than two dozen cane collection centers to other sugar mills, according to livehindustan.
The issue was discussed during the recent meeting of the cooperative cane committee. Former chairman Bhagat Singh Bobby presided the meeting.
During the meeting, farmers also demanded the setting up of new cane collection centers. They are expecting that the wave sugar mill will start operations soon and there is a need to set up more collection centers to ensure that the mills have sufficient cane for crushing this season.
Chaudhary Diwakar Singh, president of BKU Shankar demanded that the government should organize polls of the sugarcane committees as early as possible.
