Karnal, Haryana: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Sugarcane Action Committee and Bhartiya Kissan Union (BKU) have given a deadline of May 15 to the Bhadson sugar mill to clear pending cane dues, reports Amar Ujala.
They stated that the farmers will protest across all the sugar mills in the region demanding clearing of pending cane dues.
The decision was taken in a meeting convened by the Bhartiya Sugarcane Action Committee president Jasvir Singh Jaunpur that was attended by BKU head Ratan Mann.
As per law, the mills must clear cane dues to farmers within 14 days of procuring their produce.
