Budhana: Sugarcane farmers sitting on a protest for pending cane dues locked the Sugarcane department office of the Bhaisana sugar mill, according to Amarujala.
They have announced a tractor march on August 23 as the mill administration has failed to resolve their issues. Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait, national convener of the BKU will be present for the rally.
Since May 30, sugarcane farmers and BKU activists have been sitting at the main gate of the sugar mill demanding payment of cane dues. The frustrated farmers locked the gates of the sugarcane office as the mill has failed to clear their dues. Following this VP of the sugar mill Jang Bahadur Tomar and Sugarcane manager Shivkumar Tyagi met agitating farmers and shared the information regarding the payment of cane dues.
Following the request of the officials, the farmers unlocked the gates of the office. Anuj Baliyan, BKU tehsil head announced that a maha panchayat will be organized in the sugar mill premises for their demands.
