Lucknow: Sugarcane cultivators from Western Uttar Pradesh have praised UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for clearing the cane arrears.
During an interaction with the CM at his official residence on Friday, farmers applauded the government for the good steps taken for sugarcane farmers welfare.
The farmers met him on Friday and interacted with him during which they praised him for his work.
Arvind Malik, a farmer from Muzaffarnagar said, “For the first time UP mills have purchased sugarcane in huge amounts from farmers and have produced record sugar,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Friday said that a record cane price payment of more than Rs 1,00,000 crores have been paid between 2017-2020 to the 47.20 lakh sugarcane farmers in the state.
“This cane price payment of more than Rs.1,00,000 crore paid to the cane farmers is Rs.46,633 crore more than the combined cane price payment of Rs.53,367crore of the previous 3 years of 2014-17,” he further said.
