Belgavi: Sugarcane farmers have called off their agitation after Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil assured them to look over their demand for sugarcane price, reports The Hindu
Farmers were protesting for hiking sugarcane price. A meeting in this regard will be organised this week and the district administration officials, sugar factory officials and farmers’ representatives will attend it.
After concluding their two-day protest, KRRS leaders Choonappa Pujari and others met Deputy Commissioner and discussed the issue.
A similar meeting will be organised in Vijayapura, the Deputy Commissioner of the region assured the farmers.
