Kichha, Uttarakhand: A delegation of farmers met with Tilak Raj Behar on Monday to express their concerns about the frequent closures of a local sugar mill, reported Live Hindustan.
The farmers warned that they would take to the streets if the mill was not operating smoothly.
The farmers said that the mill’s closures have been causing them financial hardship. They also alleged that there has been corruption in the mill’s recent repairs, which cost millions of rupees. They demanded an investigation into the matter.
The farmers also threatened to stage an indefinite sit-in if the mill does not reopen soon.
