Muzaffarnagar: The farmers have requested sugar millers to not to shut mills till the cane is standing in the fields and complete crushing of all the sugarcane from the region. Regarding the same, a delegation of farmers under the leadership of Manoj Rathi, Mansurpur BJP unit head met Arvind Kumar Dixit, the vice president of the mill.
The farmers said, the sugarcane crop is standing in the fields and farmers do not have receipts for crushing cane. Slip should be issued to us on time so that we can supply the cane to sugar mills.
Assuring the delegation that mill will take care of this, Dixit said “We will not close operations till the sugarcane grown in the region is completely crushed. We will shut mill only after ensuring that the sugarcane grown in the region is crushed completely.”
