Amritsar: Representatives of farmers’ union in Punjab have submitted memorandums to the MLA regarding various demands including payment of pending cane dues, reports Tribune India.
A delegation of farmers representing 16 farmers’ organisations met total 11 MLAs including 9 MLAs of Aam Aadmi party and submitted the memorandum of their demands on Monday.
In most of the cases the memorandums were accepted by the representatives of the MLAs or their family members.
Farmers have stated that the government should initiate steps to clear pending cane dues of around Rs 900 crores.
