Badaun: The farmers have threatened to agitate on road with their sugarcane for the pending cane arrears from sugar mills. Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sanghatan held a meeting over sugarcane dues.
The Sanghatan’s district vice president Ankit Rathore said that the corrupt sugar mills are exploiting sugarcane farmers. It has affected the farmers’ livelihood. Due to non-payment of fees, schools are expelling children. The power supplies of the houses are being cut for the delay in payment of power bills. The government is not taking action despite our agitation. We have now decided to launch the agitation if the mills fail to pay our pending arrears.”
