Farmers threaten to block the entry of workers if repair of sugar mill is delayed

Jaspur, Uttarakhand: Sugarcane farmers have threatened to close the gates of the Nadehi Sugar Mill and obstruct the entry of workers if the administration fails to repair and start operations at the mill immediately, reports Amarujala.

Farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union are protesting outside the sugar mill’s chief manager’s office as the repair work at the mill continues on the seventh day.

A delegation of farmers met the chief manager of the mill Vivek Prakash who assured them that the administration is working on the repair work and mill would start operations by evening.

The engineers have been deployed to repair the damaged turbine of the mill, said the officials.
