Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan will start sit-in agitation on June 30 demanding their pending cane dues. Farmers have submitted the memorandum of their demands to SDM.
According to the news report published in Livehindustan.com, Srikrishna Verma, district unit head of the organisation said, “Eight months have passed since the Gola sugar mill purchased the cane from the sugarcane farmers. The mill has not yet cleared the cane dues to the farmers. The organization has decided that it will start a dharna in the Cooperative Sugarcane Development Society premises on June 30, demanding payment of sugarcane.”
