Badaut: Members of the Kisan Union organised a meeting at their office to discuss the issues related to the pending cane dues and other problems faced by farmers in the region.
A memorandum was also sent to the SDM seeking solutions to these issues.
The meeting was presided over by District President Chaudhary Brijpal Singh and among other participants were farmers from villages including Wazidpur, Dhanaura, Hilwadi, Lauhda, Baraut, and Dhikana. The problems faced by the workers during the meeting included full payment pending for sugarcane, threats to the farmers by the electricity department, SHAN, even after the exemption of electricity bills; late and insufficient water supply in canals, and the raised cost of the domestic electricity leading to problems in making payments.
Vrikam Arya, Yashpal Singh, Jitendra Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Dr. Kripal Singh, Chandrapal, and Dheer Singh Tomar attended the meeting.
