FCI sells 13.05 lakh tonnes rice for ethanol production till July 10

Taking a step to achieve the 20% target of the ethanol blending set by the Centre, the Food Corporation of India has sold 13.05 lakh tonnes of rice to distilleries in the country till July 10, reports PTI.

The above information was tabled in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.

The oil marketing companies are selling 10% ethanol-blended petrol in the country and the government has planned to achieve a 20% blending target by 2025.
