Mumbai: Maharashtra State Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation (MSCSFF) has donated Rs 30 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund to fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
In a letter written to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Jayprakash Dandegaonkar, chairman of MSDSFF said, “The state’s cooperative sugar mills play an important role in the rural economy. Mills also come forward to help society during a crisis as a part of social commitment.”
“The sugar industry in the world is in a difficult situation and at the same time, cooperative sugar mills of the state are also facing difficulties. We decided to come forward and help the government to fight against coronavirus. With the inspiration of respected Sharad Pawarji, MSCSFF has decided to give Rs. 30 lakhs on behalf of all the cooperative sugar mills in the Chief Minister Relief Fund.” he further added.
