Cooperative sugar mills have several times raised the issue of getting loans from the bank. Following which, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a high-level meeting with senior officials to resolve these issues, reports Business Standard.
The high-level officials that attended the meeting included Finance Secretary T V Somanathan and Financial Secretary Sanjay Malhotra apart from the representatives from the food and agricultural ministry.
As per the media report, Centre is taking steps to ensure easy credit from banks to cooperatives sugar mills.
