Lucknow: Commissioner, Cane and Sugar of the State, Shri. Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy told that orders were given for inspection on the complaints received on the telephone from cane farmers related to cane purchase centre-Ambupur operated by sugar mill Gularia of Balrampur Group. At the time of inspection, it came to light that the fitter and fitter assistant of the sugar mill Gularia were attempting to make manipulation in weighment machine for the purpose of under weighment. It was all being done with consent of sugar mill management, they were trying to disturbed weighing machine (digitizer) installed at the purchasing centre without the permission of the competent officer and found guilty of resetting the weighing machine. The department has registered FIR against the sugar mill management and related personnel in relevant sections.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Shri Bhoosreddy said that neither weighing clerk of purchase centre has lodged and complaint, nor it was entered in the check register of weighing machine. Fiter and assistant Fiter also told that the sugar mill management asked them to do so. Thus it is proved that weighing machine was being tampered with conspiracy with the intention of doing economic damage to the farmers with consent and knowledge of the sugar mill management.
Shri Bhoosreddy also informed that no correction/modification in the weighing machine is permissible without informing the weight and measurement department. breaking the seal or any kind of correction can only be done with the permission of department. in the weighing machine. It is necessary to inform the legal division of the metrology department by mill management. In the context of the above act, Secretary, Cooperative Cane Development Society Fardhan lodged an FIR against the concerned officers of the sugar mill, Mr. Praveen Sharma, cane manager and Mr. VK Singh assistant cane manager and the employee Mr. Vijaypal Singh son of Mr. Nihan Singh fiter and assistant Mr. Ramkumar. The FIR has been lodged under sections 420, 264, 120B and 511 of the Indian Penal Code.
In this regard, the Cane Commissioner, U.P. has said that violation of the provisions of Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Supply and Purchase Regulation Act, 1953 and related orders , by any sugar mill will not be tolerated at all and strong action will be taken against the erring sugar mill. The cane commissioner also said that during the entire process, social and physical distancing was maintained and the guidelines issued by health department is relation to covid-19 were followed .
