Lucknow: In larger interest of sugarcane farmers, the Commissioner, Cane and Sugar shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy has intensified exercise to eradicate the evil of under-weighment from the beginning of the crushing season 2019-20. Comprehensive instructions have been issued to district administration and departmental officers to stop the under weighment at the purchasing centers.
While providing information in this regard, the Cane Commissioner informed that the weighing clerks who have got license by the licensing authority / district magistrate for the crushing season 2019-20, will display their license at cane purchasing centers, along with the identity card, so that they can be easily identified . Instructions have also been issued to the District Magistrate of the concerned districts for speedy issuance of licenses for weighing clerks.
The Cane Commissioner also informed that to ensure transparency in fortnightly transfer of weighment clerks, lottery system is implemented by allocating a unique code to each weighing clerk. instruction has also been given for not to post local resident, at the purchasing center.
Instructions have been issued to display toll free number 1800-121-3203 and 1800-103-5823 for purchi related information ,& mobile numbers of District, Regional and headquarter officers so that in case of any problem farmer may contact the authorities. In case under-weighment will found the FIR will be lodged against sugar mill along with original equipment manufacturer of weighbridges.
