Kanth (Moradabad): Sugarcane grown over 3 acres of land burnt due to the short circuit caused by a high tension cable passing above the field. A farmer was injured in the incident and admitted to a hospital.
According to the police officials, the farm located in Rasulpur village belongs to Shiv Swarup. A high tension cable passes through his field. The sparks from the cable fell on the sugarcane crop grown in his field and the crop caught fire. The wind flowing with high speed fuelled the fire and it spread across the field. The farmers managed to douse the fire.
