Fire breaks out at Vellore Cooperative Sugar Mill, no injuries reported

Vellore: Fire broke out from a conveyor belt in the Vellore Cooperative Sugar Mill located at Ammudi village near Tiruvalam town on Wednesday, reports The Hindu.

No one was injured in the mishap, according to the mill administration.
The incident happened around 4 pm when the workers engaged in welding work in the mill noticed smoke from the conveyor belt. They immediately stopped the work and informed senior officials and the police. A fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the fire. A case has been registered with the Tiruvalam police station. The police officials stated that the electrical short circuit may be the reason behind the accident. They are investigating the case in detail.
