Bengaluru, Karnataka: On Saturday, Sugar Minister Shivanand Patil announced that he has instructed officials to thoroughly investigate any illegalities activities occurring in the state’s cooperative sugar mills. Patil noted that an investigation into irregularities at Nandi sugar mill in the district has already been initiated, reported The New Indian Express.
The investigation is ongoing, and actions will be taken based on the findings, he stated. Regarding the Cooperative sugar mill in Mudhol taluk, Bagalkot, Patil mentioned that the government plans to lease the factory to a private agency. “This move is expected to revive the mill and directly assist farmers in selling their sugarcane,” he explained.
Concerning Mysugar, the sole state-owned sugar mill in Mandya district, Patil indicated that the government has resolved all operational issues, and the factory has resumed operations. “We are optimistic that it will turn a profit this year,” he added.
